Galactic Senate
The Galactic Senate is the supreme legislative body of the Galactic Republic in the Star Wars universe. It is composed of senators representing thousands of star systems, sectors and planetary governments across the galaxy. As the principal forum for interplanetary diplomacy, the Senate is responsible for debating and enacting legislation, resolving conflicts between member worlds and overseeing the institutions that help sustain the Republic's order, including their military and judicial bodies. Within CACMUN, the Galactic Senate will immerse delegates in the most pressing and divisive debates in the Clone Wars era that will define the future of galactic governance. Delegates will be challenged to navigate the intense factionalism and ideological divisions of the separate worlds on the Senate floor. Representing their assigned systems with conviction while confronting ethical and political tensions that threaten the very foundation of the republic.
